Just finished up the painting of this RP miniature of John Basilone. Waiting on the holster to dry to apply clearcoat, but wanted to list the outcome. Sorry for the poor lighting.

Nice tribute, thanks for sharing. Read that he got the nickname "Manila John" when he was stationed here in the Philippines early in his career. Definitely a hero.

Cool figure. But the Marines didn't use Garands on Guadalcanal when the event depicted by this figure took place.

Really nice work. The face - you painted excellent skin tones. Its face resembles Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone from the photos I looked at, RP did a good job on it.

might want to bring that up to the manufacturer then. I built it as received and don't have the luxury of swapping out the rifle.
