I have been researching references to try and duplicate the custom mounts for this light on the M48s in the Berlin Crisis. I have purchased the Tank Workshop Crouse-Hinds 18" searchlight, which has two mounting arm styles.

I believe the TW item is designed for M47 mantlet, not the M48.

I am also looking for better-detailed images showing the locally-manufactured Berlin vehicle Crouse light mounts. Does anyone have further references, especially for mounting this light on the M48A1 without the mantlet cover?

And, can the routing of the power cables be illustrated?

Iron Division makes one for the M48. I have one in the basement that I can snap some pictures of after the Stanley Cup Finals game

Do some searches on the site and you'll find some good images that show the mount fairly well. There is also some good discussion about the cabling for the searchlight and how it entered the turret.

Make note that there appears to be two versions. One with a rectangular box forward of the loader's hatch with a linkage arm of some type running from the box to the left searchlight trunnion mounts. The other version does not have the box or the linkage arm at all.
