Finished Cover-up. Since I was bored I decide to build a quickie RMG dio with some leftover Brit Paras and an old Kubelwagen kit collecting dust. The idea is the ambush of a German Kubelwagen by 1st Airborne Red Devils. I still have to detail the Kubelwagen. Gotta search my scrap box for German equipment. I also have to finish the dirt road as only the undercolor has been sprayed. This will probably be the fastest dio I have ever whipped together. I have been working on it for only one week so far.

I quickly whipped together a simple base

Next is the basic concept

Added the Paras for testing

Another test fitting

ONE MORE THING!!! Joining so late and not being able to read Dutch what is the X Factor for this campaign? Is there an English list of the rules?

Nice base. Recommendation on the rocks on the base, add tall grass and 'stuff' to blend them into the base so that they are not sitting On the base.
All the logs laying down had to come from somewhere. I'd add a stump or two to give a representation of where the trees originated from.

Since I just finished my Cover-up Campaign I am pushing it to finish an RMG in 3 weeks. Plus I am trying to do it with only parts from my scrap box so there will be some limitations.

I am thinking of adding a motocycle with sidecar as well but time and the scrap box will dictate the level of detail I can add.

BTW although the RMG Campaign thread says the English is below, I did not find it. There was a link that said it linked to the English but yet again no English. Can someone give me a direct link?

Bummer - you're right - the translations gone. I know the staff on the ALS sites are working pretty hard to get things going and I'm sure it has just been moved temporarily.

Long story short - the XFactor on this is to have a building OR Foliage in the diorama. And XFactor 2 - you must have a picture or story line from actual accounts, movie, book, web site etc. that your diorama is based on.
For example in my gallery you'll see a BW photo of a guy running out a door, two or three photos down you see I have a guy doing just about the same thing.

You can also base it on a 'snippette' from a book. Since you are 'reverse engineering' you may want to toss out the question -"Can anyone tell me if this was a scene?"

Eagle and Faust have the final word on this so you can always PM either of them and get a direct order form the CO.

OK. I have to alter my scene a little to roughly match a photo.

Here is the photo. Notice the Bren gunner off in the distance.

So here is the Bren gunner in an ambush

I will be adding the roadsign and some more trees.

Bingo - you got it.

You know what would be cool, take a razor saw and open up the Kubels door and position the German right inside the door as if he's just gotten out of the Kubel

I thought about that but time is of the esence and I still have to finish the base and build a motorcycle w/sidecar surrendering too. Not only did I want to open the door but I wanted to turn the front wheels and put the Kubel off the road.

Update with the sign, a few trees and a motorcyle w/sidecar. I forgot to buy German Field Grey for the uniforms. I am going to paint all the cycle riders a different scheme from the Kubel driver to simulate a rag tag bunch of soldier, just like the real Arnhem where soldiers from any unit were mixed together and rushed to the defense of the bridge

My RMG Ambush 95% done. I still have to put the dirt over the the road that has only been given the undercoat color , mount the Brit Para walking behind the motorcycle, and, the border trim has to be added too.

I think that's just the lighting. They are quite dull in real life. However will probably matte spray them anyway to eliminate the shine under any lighting
