South Africa's Border War by Willem Steenkamp, Softcover Dec 2014.
Does this book have any value for AFV modelling?
There are positive reviews of the book in Amazon and there is mention of many photographs. I have the old Concord Publications book on War in Angola by Al J Venter. It was a bit disappointing as AFVs were not heavily represented in the pictures.

Jason
I have Helion's two books on the Easter Offensive #1 and #2 from their Asia at War series that you speak of.
But Steenkamp's book is not part of Helion's Africa at War series and older. The format should be different since there are 256 pages against the 72 page booklets.

I bought the book. It doesn't have any value for AFV modelling. It has a lot of small photographs of the conflict. No maps. but the book has value in covering the conflict.

Hi Wingston. If the book is a new addition of the below copy, then you can definitely make use of it for modeling purposes. I think this is an exact copy though (I recall seeing it in a book store but am not 100% sure).

The above book has many colour photos. You have the Oliphant tank, Buffel and Casspir APCs, Eland and Ratel AFV's.
What are you looking to model specifically?

Hello Keigan
The book I purchased should be the recent reprint of the old book that you have provided the link. I expect the book to be a good read anyway.
My interest is in the Oliphant tank as it is more likely to be in plastic kit form in the future.
The amount of photos of AFVS in the book are quite few. My metric would be the Concord softcover books.
There were a handful of pictures of the Ratel 20 mm and 90 mm gun variants along a picture or two of the Oliphant. Most of the pictures are of the personel and the battleground.
I will wait for the Osprey softcover to be released next year.
