Revell 1/72 Sd. Kfz. 7/2. OOB, except for changing a grab handle on the dashboard, which, of course, no one can see.
Very nice kit. Went together well, and is about as nice as Dragon 1/72 USED to be!

Very nice. I did a conversion from Airfix years ago. I shall have to look out for this as it looks like a nice kit. Does it have the wooden slat sides or the mesh? Can't tell from the pictures.
The finish is very realistic (though I did spot one unfilled ejection pin mark!) so overall well done!

Excellent build!!!
What painting method did you use? I suppose paintbrush with acrylics... Looks great, and I'd love to achieve that feathered look on my own braille scale sd.kfz. 7/1.

Yeah, I missed that pin mark on the elevating gear. I didn't think it would be visible, but in the enlargements it sticks out like a sore thumb! This version has the solid plank sides. I built it with the sides down for a diorama. For painting, I airbrushed (Iwata) with Tamiya acrylics. The black oil wash tends to soften, or blur, the camo job (in a good way). It's a great little kit - too bad Revell doesn't make crews to go with their vehicles, but there are these: http://www.shapeways.com/product/67WHRMMGN/1-72-german-arty-crew-set1?optionId=58462235 and these: http://www.shapeways.com/product/JN4RD7768/1-72-flak-crew-set?optionId=58986042 3D printed figures. A little pricey, but very nice gun crew figures.

Then I'm guessing free hand airbrushing? I gotta get some proper airbrush one of these days... Right now I'm experimenting with rattle cans and "advanced" masking techniques = very time consuming and less than convincing results so far, but I'm getting there...

Hey Biggles, good job with the figures. I like that you used washes and drybruhsing on them. Many people seem to leave these techniques aside for braille scale figures, for IMO no valid reason. Maybe you could add some little detail like insignias on the caps (tiny white dots) or something?
I don't know if the base was made for the vehicle, but the tracks and wheels really float quite alot.
Anyway excellent job so far!

Yeah, the half-track is trying to levitate - I'll have to tie it down. But seriously, it's just sitting on an all purpose base for the pics. I use the same base for other vehicles and figures. The figures are also not glued down. This vehicle will be part of a larger dio, assuming I can find enough relevant figures.
