Hi Everyone,
Posted over on the new introductions forum, as I'm new
Back to model building after a 15-20 year absence.
I had a 1/35 T-62A in my closest for just about that long.
I'm a big fan of Russian vehicles - all eras.
I had fun building this one.
When I started building there was really no internet so thankfully I was able to pull up tips easily. Glad I'm here.
-Mix of manufactures for the paint and weathering effects - Vallejo, AK, Tamiya. Acrylic, Enamel and Pigments.
-Air brushed base with a few layers. First time modeling armor with an air brush so I need some practice.
-Wash and rust effects turned out Ok but washes and rust I could see the thinner I used in some spots.
-Dulled down chipping with a wash.
-Broke one of the turret handle but turned out as a plus. Heated it up, bent it, and made it looked like it had snapped.
-Wanted over all beat up effect - tried not over due it.
-Used some mud to cover up a joint gap - not good - but gave me the effect I wanted.
-Filling joints with putty is an art. Tried it on the gun barrel but not perfect. Plus I over sanded.
All in all a fun build. Tough choice deciding on my next one
Thanks for reading

Hi,
nice to know that you restarted modelling.
I would suggest to make some small improvements on your T-62.
I see a lot of mud on the hull, but no any on the tracks. I would make them muddy too, at least the recesses.
I suggest to paint some details as the lenses of the lights.
The teeth of the driving wheel should show steel color, not silver.
