We have guessed correctly, Takom is doing a King Tiger with full interior. Can't wait!!!

I might get drawn back into building a WWII German tank after all those years

Presumably there will be a version without zimmerit.
I wonder how the molded zimmerite for the Herschel version would work. Abt 505 tigers have a bare patch on the sides of their turrets for the charging knight emblem. Other king Tigers don't. Will they mold the bare patch or not? Or will there be a replaceable panel for turret side with and without zimmerit.

The photo of the production turret that they have shown on FaceBook doesn't have the bare patch. Dragon did one kit without the patch and another with the patch in their CyberHobby white box line.

(LOUD SCREAM !!) Another must have kit ! I can't keep up with all the new releases in both time & money. I guess I'm gonna have to start selling blood
Seriously, this looks to be a great kit! I look forward to the new release. I just hope it's around Christmas time when it's too cold to do much outside and Santa is looking for ideas to put under the tree.
Thanks Takom and please save me one
A happy & safe 4th of July to everybody !

That's what Dragon did on their original KT with zimm, there was a bare patch, and if you built a different version there was an zimmed insert.

Sorry but I must be some sort of Philistine. I cannot get enthusiastic about yet another KT. If I didn't have one maybe it would be different.

'Real Armor Thickness' mentioned on the box front, is that a new selling point for kits with interiors?
I hope not - I build Allied tanks, and they'd need to provide tissue-paper for the walls!

Looks like a crackin' set of KTs - I might need to get one...

The tracks look very good...waiting for non-zimmerited version though.

They have one. There are three kits coming out, including a non zimm version.

Nope, three kits - yes, but all of them have zimm on, the whole difference is in turrets.

It's nice to see Takom getting into WWII stuff! I personally would prefer without the interior, but kudos to them for including it. Hopefully they continue on with more WWII armor & vehicles!!

If current trends continue they may offer a version without it as well. Who knows. Till it happens or not. Would drive the cost down some though. But it can also provide for interesting interior options like open hatches and engine bay details as well as blown off turrets etc.
ON the other hand I would rather have no zimmerett so i could make it myself as well as damage it. Thats much harder to do when its molded in.

It's not hard at all. Sharpen the tip on a screwdriver (that comes in one of those cheap eyeglass repair kits) into a chisel point. It cuts right through the molded-on zimmerit like butter and leaves a smooth surface. I did just that on Dragon 6303 to make a smooth, zimmerit-free patch for the s.Pz.Abt. 505 charging knight.
