what's a good match for RAL 6014 gelboliv. preferrably tamiya paints. I tried using the MIG Ammo paint but i was having issues with it. timeframe is early/mid 70's for a Cdn 1A2 rent a tank. thanks.

Hi Ian,

Take a look at my KPz70 build, where I used a base coat of Tamiya XF-51 Khaki Drab and a thinned top coat of XF-51 cut with a little XF-60 Dark Yellow. It certainly looks the part in person to me! (It really takes on the right tone once you add a gloss or satin coat for decals!)

(Tried the Revell stuff but hated it - awful paint to try to spray...)

Bear in mind that under certain low-light conditions Gelboliv can look like a dark grey, and it certainly burnishes darker when buffed by scuffs with trees, soft stowage, etc.

Hope this helps!

No worries! Welcome to the club!

I like the paint mix I came up with. It worked very well for my Canadian Leopard 1A2 Rent-A-Tank.

Good luck with your re-paint!
