I went looking at their web page, but did not see an index or the ability to search.

I seem to recall a (relatively) recent issue had the Zu-23 mounted on a BTR-D.

I went digging through my back issues, but did not come across it.

Anyone remember what issue number?

Thanks

yeah, it's a BTR-D, I know.. brain cramp.. now I can't change the title..

Hi. It's issue 80. Modelled by Ignat Pomazkov.

Thanh,
Thanks for that. I found the issue, but is a surprisingly short article with very little detail on the build or paint.

Does anyone know of other online or print articles with information on the build and paint/finish of the Zu-23?

Here is the current state of mine. Still slightly glossy from the sealant coating pre-weathering.

Abrams Squad 13 has an article of a Zil-131 with a ZU-23-2 according to scalemates: https://www.scalemates.com/press/issue.php?id=49

Not sure how detailed it is, though.

Hi Mike. As Cristian says, in issue 13 of Abrams Squad they build it but I just had a look at the article and they simply built it oob sauf a couple of details like a tarpaulin and something else. The article mainly focuses on ICM's Zil-131

Mike.. that ZU-23 in the pic looks really nice.. which kit is that?

I have partially built the one that comes with MENG's pick-up truck, and I found it quite difficult to get the main body of the gun to sit right.. those two circular sides that the gun barrels attach to.

Hisham,
This is the Meng kit, with more work in progress in another thread,
http://armorama.com/forums/248897&page=1

I have the opposite problem, I stalled on the Trumpter kit at that point, but got this one finished.
This kit is more simplified than the Trumpeter kit in several ways, I hope to finish the Trumpeter kit this month and post comparisons of the two.

A picture as it stands now taken in better light

That looks great... I look forward to the comparison with the Trumpeter kit

This is where I got to with mine.. after some force-fitting and more cement than I care to admit to I put that project aside for now.
