I didn't find a lot of sets other than the Legend ones. Did I miss something?

Do you mean resin AM sets ? There are two stowage sets (Vietnam and OIF) and some IDF sets from Verlinden.

Eduard has released several PE detail sets for 1/35th scale M113 kits...

I never buy Eduard armor PE unless there simply isn't anything else. Too simplistic and not worth the money. A good Voyager set would be nice, but it appears they never released it or it sold out quickly because I can't find it anywhere.

Eduard armor PE can vary enormously from set to set - from (as you say) very simplistic to fairly involved. I recall many of their M113 sets being amongst their better.

Thanks, Al, for that insight. I couldn't find any of the sets on their website. Must be OOP. I found them on eBay and they look OK, but nothing like what you get with Voyager.

Hi, Bill! Thanks for the review! With new kits of the M113 in various guises on the horizon, this new LEGEND set MAY also come in useful for them. I don't know of any other detail or update sets for the M113, aside of the VERLINDEN Update and a couple of older PE sets from EDUARD. To be fair, the newer EDUARD PE sets are quite usable for A LOT of kits out there. As far as A/M Tracks are concerned, I don't mention them because a goodly number of "dedicated" modellers opt for A/M Tracks anyway, regardless of what is supplied in ANY tracked-vehicle kit.

I expect that once the new M113 kits, (MENG, TAKOM, AFV CLUB), hit the market, the A/M boys will be jumping all over each other to climb aboard the "PE and Update Bandwagon". THAT is a GOOD thing.

I for one, am eager to see the new M113 kits come to fruition, even though, IMO, with a bit of work, one can still throw together a creditable M113 with the ACADEMY kit...

Having said that, I'm sure that this new LEGEND Update set will find it's way onto many a modeller's work bench...

EDUARD's two PE sets (Interior & Exterior) for the HOBBY BOSS M4 Artillery Tractor are, in a word, OUTSTANDING...

Bill, great review. I did the review of the Canadian version, which includes alot of the same parts, and then build a Canadian M113A2 with it, very impressive set, makes for a great build, and should apply to the US versions as well.
