And it will cost as much as the Takom but without the interior?

Unless it is a fraction of the Takom price, I say "ho-hum".

By fraction, do you mean using Dragon math? That comes to fifteen bucks more than whatever the Takom kit will retail for.

Don't forget that some of those Dragon KT kit sprues date from the 1995 Jagdtiger. I'm as happy as the next guy to see them making an effort, but that kit was long in the tooth long ago.

A bit late to the mark aren't they? Well, I guess it would be an option to those who don't want interior - depending on price ofc

Just another one of those boring reboxes they chuck out when some other companies actually dares to try and make a new kit of a WW2 German tank. I'll ignore it.

This looks like the old Cyberhobby 6400 kit re-released with new decal options but less etch.
It was a good kit for it's time but in the current market the retail price will either make or break it.

To be fair, it is quite a good kit overall. Some of the parts are dated and I'm not a fan of the overly thick zimmerit, but it is a good looking model when built. Until Takom's kits are released, the Dragon kits are still the best on the market, even if they are getting on a bit.
However, there is no way I would waste my money on this. There is nothing new here at all. Dragon appear to have made no attempt to update what is in the box and have instead removed parts. Hell, even the box art is from a previous kit. Any guesses on how much Dragon will be charging for this one? £40-50?
Unless Takom somehow manage to really screw their kits up or decide to charge silly money for them, I really can't see any logic in buying this kit.

I don't think this is bad at all just the price is about it.
Take the great three way Battle between Meng, and Rye field with the M1 Abrams all three were found to be on the same par with minor inaccuracies between all three the only great improvement over dragon was the fact the others had the TUSK parts, same situation here except in the form of an interior.
Let's face it how much can be improved on the bare bones between Dragon and Takom and of course Meng once there's comes along.
Here in Australia most kits go for around the same price across the board regardless of brand average about 90 dollars for anything from the latest Meng kit to most of the dragon kits and Takom isn't any cheaper.
I'll wait and see for myself before I make the call on any of them like my Dragon M1s I have an equal stash of dragon KTs plus all the other stuff to make a 505 KTs like the Abrams kits I'll sit on my hands and enjoy the numerous threads on these three upcoming King Tigers.
Cheers Ben

Well, I said that this kit appears to be bringing nothing new to the table and then I found this. 2 ton crane and what appears to be photo etch side skirts included. Maybe of more interest than the Henschel version...

I like the way you can make every tank from the 505.

Matt;
Where did you find that "Dragon 6848" box-art? I cannot seem to find any DML6848 listed anywhere! THAT would certainly be both interesting, what with the crane, goodies, etc., AND seemingly contrary to the "less for more" current strategy Dragon seems to be following with its armor kits!

I found it on the scalemates timeline, right at the very end
https://www.scalemates.com/kits/1003069-dragon-6840-kingtiger
I must admit I was surprised that the box art shows something new included, instead of taken away!
