Hi guys,this is Takom's new Type 59.
Waited for years for someone to finally make a respectable Type 59 kit and honestly Takom did a wonderful job.
I highly recommed it for Cold War Chinese or Soviet Armor fans(it is a T-54A after all)
Hope you guys like.

Thanks for the compliment
Everything fit quite nice, the barrel is 2 pieces and plastic and it required some sanding to get the seem out.
Overall a very refined kit and a pleasure to build.

Fantastic build! Paint and stuff in the backgrond detracts from the viewing, though.

Did you mask off the camo pattern or is it freehand?

Very nice looking. Especially like the cammo. Any plans to weather it or are you calling it finished?

I weathered it lightly with the MIG products in the pics.I didn't want to over do it on this tank.If you look at the Type 59's from Tiananmen Square, they aren't much dirtier than this.

Well I wanted to showcase the paint as it was made particularly for this model in collaboration with MIG.

I'm actually making another one and I'm getting a 105mm metal barrel to convert it to the Type 59-II version that was used in Tiananmen Square.
Thanks for the compliment

Just curious, where did you have the same point? This is the only post I see from you here.
Like I said I wanted to showcase the paint,as it was made specifically for this model.
I don't feel it distracts from the model,I've seen other people take pics this way.

I masked it off and I only had to touch up a few areas by hand.

Looks great. I like the camo also. Perhaps it needs some matte coat?

It's not glossy,I had to put the light very close.
It doesn't look glossy at all in normal lighting.
Thanks for the compliment though.

I really don't see what you are talking about....looking at mine and pics of a real Type 59 and I don't see any difference.
No one else mentioned this.
I don't think you know what your talking about.....
And you spelled sprocket wrong.....

Does anyone see what this guy is talking about?
The guide "sprocket" looks exactly the same as this to me
Maybe he means track tension?
