I have a question for those more knowledgeable panzer people. I own a late Panther track, and it appears that the ice cleats are welded on. I have seen many other late Panther tracks for sale or in images of museums where the cleats seem to be cast in. I can't however seem to find another image of a track like mine.

So were cleats welded on initially and later cast in to the links? I have an image here with the left link from an ebay sale, and the one on the right is the cleats of mine.



Hope someone has seen this before. It's driving me nuts.
