First looks modern, second looks like an older design, maybe WWII or postwar.

First one is definitely modern, probably US. Here it is:
http://militarytires.ca/product/12-5-r20-mpt-general-sand-trail/The second one looks much like WWII German, something close to Mercedes-Benz l4500 (Zvezda kit) and Bussung-Nag 4500 (AFV Club). Just my two cents...

Unfortunately, based on tire bands this new model isn't the FAV DPV.
Compare with this pic.

#2068 definitely look like the same pattern used by Def for their L4500R Maultier set.
So I am thinking some sort of German WW2 softskin.

The SA Casspir would be great to build something like this with, but the tires don't look right.

Just figured out why I think that 2068 is so common!!!!.... 20 ton 917 dump trucks had them... as well as all the 915 series!

unfortunately its an entirely common tread pattern, but with the interest in recent years for support equipment, and no one out there really with a hauler in plastic with say an 870 trailer.... it would make for an interesting subject!

The G6 would be a great one also, I've always liked the look of that vehicle.

Trumpeter's Spanish and Italian Centauro kits are very nice kits and they've been out for a while now.. so I don't think it would be a smart move by Takom to revisit this subject.. I don't think they would sell a lot of them.
Just a personal opinion, of course

It has a lot of people talking about it and speculating. Sounds like good marketing to me.

Unfortunately the side walls don't match. While the pattern is similar in on the main tread, the side wall details look more like 1940's Continental tires.

I myself was thinking about Husky, but why would they bother themselves (and us) when there are already two kits of the vehicle on the market? It is neither German WWII, nor Object 279

The Sand Trail tire is 12.5 x 20, which is the basic size for an M923 6x6 w/ super singles. Hopefully we will see a new M900 series 5 ton.

Is it also common to MRAPs? It looks ike what is on the new L-ATV.
