Hi all; want to try my first winter scene with German SPG and crew in a snowy Russian field; using Woodland Scenics snow; any tips on how to apply snow to base?

You have to make your base of Celluclay, or similar, then apply a thin layer of snow on top. You can brush on white glue to hold the snow.

You can also create some pretty convincing effects by dusting some plaster over your scene and fixing it with hairspray.

I find what works well with the Woodland Scenics snow is spraying the finished snow with diluted white glue. This provides just enough "stick" to keep the snow in place and still retains the powdery look of the snow.
