Hello Again, I have another M48 question. Has anyone seen/taken photos of the new Dragon M48 next to the old Tamiya one? I have read that the Tamiya kit is about 3mm too high in the suspension, as I already have 2 of the Tamiya kits before I go and purchase Dragon replacements, I would like to see for myself just how noticeable that is, as they say a picture is worth a thousand words.
Thanks - John

Check out the Paul Budzik articles on building the Tamiya M48. It is very noticeable. Even the ancient Monogram M48 has the site right with the Tamiya riding high.
And careless fitting of the tension idler can result in a kit nose down as if it had a broken torsion bar. Stupid Steve strikes again!
And now you know what my avatar means.

The Dragon kits are just light-years better than the old Tamiya dog. If you are looking to build an accurate M48, it really isn't worth it to build the Tamiya kit.

Thank you Steve and Gino, boy I'm glad you pointed out that article by Paul, while it's possible to get a good result, way too much work for me considering there is an acceptable replacement available.
Thanks again for the help guys! - John

If you want a fun toy that looks like a M48 then the Tamiya kit is passable. Otherwise there's no reason to ever buy that kit.
