Great News, I always wanted to build one of these StuGs with the additional air filters ! Definitely on my list.
By the way - there is a little detail to distinguish Ausf.C and D. They should have different locks on the transmission hatches. You get both parts in the DML StuG III C/D kit (no.6009 , parts C15 and C24).

I gotta admit that I am not very interested in limited-use subjects, but Sonderverband 288 StuGs are interesting - all three of them! I'll order one of these.

Yep, as much as I like my 'E', I would have brought this instead had I of known. But then, two StuGs are better than one...

And guys, next time Dragon or Trumpy brings out a vehicle that had 2-3 produced, let's not be quite so hard on them. Only three of these saw service, that's pretty specialized.

This is a hard model not to like. Rare subject may be a turn-off for some, but at least it was real. Cool looking exterior with all the jerry cans, road wheels, etc. Bronco quality and detail. Workable tracks. I could go on. I'm betting there is at least Dragon level interior, if not more. Whether it's anyone's cup of tea or not, it's a strong product. And, let's face, you can never build too many StuGs.

Poor Dragon went too far afield to find German one-offs and skipped some cooler subjects. But the Dragon has been sidestepping early Stug III for some reason.

Hey on the bright side its a nice new AusfC/D ,remove all the trop add on stuff and bingo you have c/d sug and dragon hasnt touched that one yet,not counting the old one. So it is not really limited to just 3 vehicles is it. Now watch how fast we see one from Dragon. Now if Bronco would just shrink it 48th then we are talking. Have fun Wayne

I wouldn't expect any earlier StuG-types from DRAGON; why would they make any effort to do something entirely new, when they only have to bring out a "NEW!!!" kit by switching a few parts around..? Doing otherwise would require too much thought...
Hang on to your hats, friends- MINIART showed "early" and initial StuGs in their 2016 line-up just this last Winter. TWO new kits- an "A0" and some other type, of which the designation escapes me at the moment. Sorry, I'm not "hard-wired" for German WWII stuff...
PS- "POOR DRAGON"..? Those bone-heads have only themselves to blame for the ever-growing ranks of modellers who are becoming disenchanted with their wares... Read the forum regarding DRAGON's new M60...

Badass stance on that puppy, looks like a fun build...

The kit was missing the commander's cupola, so it is in transit to me from the UK. Once I get it, the kit will be finished. It needed some filling where the rear deck pieces don't fit properly, just like the MiniArt kits it is likely derived from.

Please it's too painful to read that again. Sheer apathy. Real rush job with little concern for anything. They've regressed back to their kits from 25 years ago.
My Sarcasm didn't translate well. Never have such opportunities for excellence been squandered.
I'm reminded of their Sherman V/M4A4 that took them four tries to get "mostly" right. Maybe 10 years down the road we'll see a "premium " re-release with a few more half-arsed attempts at correction.
