3D printed, that is https://www.google.ca/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&ved=0ahUKEwiLmfH78obOAhUL6oMKHc5ZCdEQjhwIBQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gambody.com%2Fblog%2Fmerkava-3d-printable-design-released-by-gambody%2F&psig=AFQjCNEzRsX31Luqf8mk39neNRk13qoGKQ&ust=1469227424864253&cad=rjt 1:24 scale with interior, in the form of a powerpack and crew compartment. all for the low, low price of 40 $s . it looks to build up into something decent

Very cool but I assume at $40 that you would only get the right to print this or the CAD drawings to print it. If I am wrong I am all in. I am at work right now and can't open the information links.

But of course, now you would need a printer that can print with a high enough resolution.

You could also send it to Shapeways or someone else for contract printing. I wonder what it would cost. I know of one library that allows free 3d printing to card holders but photo copies cost a quarter.

Most mid-range printers will have a decent enough resolution to get fine detail. The primary issue with appearance is going to be the 'stair stepping' on the angled or curved surfaces of the model, illustrated below:

Higher printing resolutions (i.e., thinner layers) will reduce the visibility of the effect, but it's almost impossible to eliminate in the printer. Depending on what material you print the models in, there may not be a good method to smooth out the printed surface, and the good methods may have issues that affect the small details.

That's an animated rendering, so while it shows the assembly steps, it doesn't show the quality of the printed parts.

I wouldn't get it even if I could; there's something seriously wrong with the turret, the gun seems to sit way too high. The side of the turret armour should be even with/lower than the circular portion of the turret:

had a sudden thought about this while working up mine. would it be possible to scale down to 1:35 the interior parts so they'll fit meng's lower hull?

Depending on the software you use to talk to your 3D printer, all you'd have to do is change the print dimensions for the piece. For example, if the piece is 100mm wide at 1:24, then for 1:35 it would be 68.57mm wide; if the dimensions are linked, changing one should change all three.

with all KINDS of Merkava's just BEGging for an interior, I don't see why they don't make available plans for 1:35 interior
