I'm working on an eastern express kv-1 right now, Its ok. One good company for russian armor though, is ICM.

I have built the Tamiya and I have an Eastern Express. Both are good but neither one is great. There are Eduards sets for both. The Tamiya is cleaner but the fender supports are inaccurate. The Eastern Express is a little rough but you don't have to change the fenders to have the correct fender supports.

Well you really only have two choices: Tamiya or Eastern Express. The answer to this is simple. Stay away from Tamiya. It is a really old kit with motorization holes, horrible rubber tracks with detail only on one side, and they based all three of their KV kits on the Aberdeen vehicle which has some interesting add-on armor that didn't appear on 99% of KVs. The Eastern Express kits on the other hand are actually very nice. They are much more accurate, build up easily, and have a wider range of model variants to choose from. The tracks aren't great (and I replaced mine with Friulmodel), but they are better than the Tamiya ones.
