I want a turned barrel for my Dragon PZ IV J. I was just going to get a JR barrel, but then i saw Hot Barrels comes also with a mantle for like an extra dollar.
Anyone have any opinions?
Thanks ,
marc

Have you looked herehttp://www.bentbutnotbroken.com/Barrels.htm
Armo makes one also I think might want to use it as some J.R. barrels come with a glue on White metal Muzzle brake and so does some of the Hot barrels have one or two never have used either of them, thing is the muzzle brake resists all attempts of gluing!!
Only advice!

I've used the CMK Hotbarrels for my old Tamiya Hunting Tiger, the old Tamiya SU-85 and for the Tamiya JS-3 heavy tank. They are nice, include a resin mantlet (Hunting Tiger did, don't recall if the JS-3 did) and the JS-3 did include a resin muzzle brake. I found the resin muzzle brake to be better than the Jordi Rubio white metal muzzle brake (I accidentily bought both). I do not recall what the SU-85 barrel came with, I will check and and post the information here.

I have bought a couple of hot barrels in my time and I really don't like them at all ...I used the barrel on my Hetzer but threw away the whole mantlet and ball mount as they in no way fit the hole in the kit...I found everything too small....I have the PzrIV G barrel and it took me forever to cut out the resin block ...I think I will just use the kit part....The KT barrel in no way looks like a KT barrel and when you compare it to the JR and kit barrels some body got it wrong and I'll let you figure out who... The resin muzzel brake looks like the one off the very old KT from Tamiya...so If I were you I would stick with JR or some of the new companies like Como..and I love the Eduard barrels ...no more lining them up straight ...

I've always found the CMK Hot Barrels turned metal barrels to be just as good as Jordi Rubio or Elefant and the mantlets are hit or miss. For the T-26, the mantlet is excellent, but for the KV-2 it wasn't so hot. Either way it is still a good value because I;ve found them to cost the same or less than the Rubio equivalent and at the very least the barrel will be good and who knows, you just may get a really nice mantlet to boot.

So far I have only used one for my in progress Hetzer, and I think it is great. I don't know about the other's....although the manlet's are convincing (that is why I bought the one for the hetzer. I had to strip the kit that somebody else built, and I needed a new manlet and barrel).
