Hey all...
Just need a bit of advice and want to throw some advice out in return.
My current project is Trumpys PT-76. And well...Its taking all my willpower to not throw it at the nearest wall. Not one of the trumpy guys best efforts as of late. Its decent...but not enough. The biggest downfall for me is the running gear...and the godawful tracks. Everything else is meh.
My advice to you...You MUST replace the kit tracks...or else. (if there are replacements).
The tracks are the reason I must now turn my once, reasonably decent build into a destroyed vehicle. Reason being for the aforementioned running gear...and the tracks.
They were too tight! Not to mention noting would bind them together. And alas...they tore off a few road wheels. So, viola...disabled/destroyed tank.
I'll try to get some images up if I can. But as I said, this is one of trumpys lemons.

You can try Trumpeter aftermarket tracks for the PT-76/BTR-50.I have not worked with them yet but do have a set of them.They do seem to be very detailed.

I've already attempted installing the tracks, and I don't want to sink anymore cash into this project...so I'm using what I have on hand. And I really do want to try my hand at a knocked out vehicle...
I will be making this a NVA machine in Vietnam.

I read that they are missing some links to complete a vehicle.

From my experience with the BTR-50, the indy link tracks are too short.

Hi;

I Agree ! there kit is Worthless !!!! The suspension does not line up with the hull, which for Trumpeter was A Shocker for me. After I finally Gave Up, I Built My kit as one of the PT-76s that Hugh Mills Destroyed in his Cobra Gunship in A Mini-Dio !! IMHO you are Better off getting the EE kit with the Edward Detail set. I Built Two of the EE kits & Super detailed them, the Eastern Express PT-76 was one of there Better kits.

It's an older kit from Trumpeter but it builds up into a decent replica of the PT-76 without too much effort.

There are a few options for aftermarket tracks to the replace the ones that came in the kit.

Overall, my 76 looks good alongside its stablemates in the same family of vehicles.

I've built an Eastern express kit before, I do like them...
But they are difficult to find.
