This is good news for fans of JGSDF armour. No Jieitai collection would be complete without a Type 90, though I'll acknowledge the Tamiya kit will only produce a rather plain looking vehicle. A little photo etch will certainly bring this one to life. Passion Models offered a PE upgrade set, but it seems to be out of production now. I'm glad to not have to hunt through obscure Japanese web sites to find a discontinued PE set.
