My goodness but that turret is HUGE!!!! Almost as long as the hull...are there any other tanks with turrets this large compared to their hulls? Regardless, great work, and looking forward to the rest.

A good observation Curt. Colin and I were discussing that very thing at the IPMS Edmonton club meeting Tuesday past. They certainly have expanded on its overall area over the years. Some is external storage compartments and some is added on armour etc... but that thing is huge alright!

BTW Colin, looks good on the web, but it looks better in person, and I love the camo... a 30 pounder is a huge bird too! Hope you froze the leftovers. We just have a ham on Thanksgiving, we save the bird for Christmas. Keep listening to the inner voices sir...they haven't led you astray on this build.

OK, getting near the finish line with the big kitty...

A few more touchups, the RWS, and adjust the RHS tracks...

Colin, while I tend to like the more SCI-FI looking vehicles like the MPCV Buffalo with slat armor, I have to admit that this, with its clean lines is very menacing looking! It really is a thing of beauty, like a shark beautiful. You've really done a splendid job on it so far. I have enjoyed following this build since day one.

Regards,

Eric

Somethings amiss, I don't see any images on your last post, just little link squares.

Thanks Eric!

Craig, that is odd, the same thing happened to me, but I refreshed and the pics came up...maybe Photobucket or the Armorama website are having some issues. I also noticed the banners in user signatures on some peoples posts are doing the same thing...

Edit: Photobucket is down for maintenance right now so the pics should be back up shortly.

Thankfully the Photobucket issue is sorted and we can get back to enjoying your work. Nicely done weathering which doesn't overtake the great detail of the kit and your skill. I've picked up the 2A4 and like Meng's approach, my first purchase of this company.

OK, calling this one done! The MG and RWS are not glued on as I will be packing them separately for shipment. In retrospect I should have left the antenna and commanders screen off as well. Overall, this was a great kit to build, I think Meng did a wonderful job on it, although the tracks were a little tedious, but then again, when are indie link tracks never tedious? Purists will say the RWS was never mounted to Bundeswehr Leopards, but I think it makes for an interesting addition. This is a wicked looking piece of equipment and Meng captured it well in my opinion, and only needs a few little additional details to brings it all together. The kit is based off a fairly early model, so I am sure there are a lot of little modifications in subsequent units to keep the superdetailers busy.

Time to ship it off to its' new home. Thanks to all who have followed this blog, I hope you enjoyed it!

Really beautiful work! Makes me really want to get one now...but I won't be able to do it the justice that you did to this one...really, really nicely done! I know that it was hard to send my M1A1 AIM off to Fort Stewart, but knowing where and why it was going made it that much easier. I have an M2A2 in progress that I think will be hard to part with as well, also heading for Fort Stewart. I don't know where your Leopard is going, but I'd have a hard time giving that one away!

Thanks Curt! Yes, it is with admittedly mixed emotions that I will be sending this one away, but hopefully the owner will be happy with it and enjoy having it in his display case!
