First off what you get in the Chieftain Mk-2 box part 1.

I did a back and front of sprue H to show the detail and the injector marks on the back of the sprue. I will upload further pictures tomorrow.

Can't wait to follow this build. I have not read any reviews yet but I already have the Mk5 and Mk10 versions of this kit from same manufacture and all I can say is...wow. The parts are sharp and crisp in detail. How accurate it is...I have no clue, but do I like it...heck yeah!!

Part three and I have done some close up pictures showing you some of the detail. The detail on this model kit is very good and crisp.

So as you can see from these pictures some great detail to work with some minor bad parts but more about those as I start to build.

So onto the build
Having already opened it up and looking lovingly at the gorgeous sprues full of detail I looked through the instruction booklet full of dreams of grandeur.
The build starts on page three with the wheels, now I have to say at this point I was taken back for all of five minutes trying to locate the N sprue to which their is no N sprue but it definitely said "N". My carer having heard enough of my cursing came over and within seconds found what I was looking for "what a bloody stupid place to put them was my response" They were attached to the underside of the turret just the two of them listed as N.

Although you have seen this sprue already I thought I would show you to remind you of the n sprue ?
Having extracted them from the N sprue for something so small and having in a previous build had parts break whilst extracting them from the sprue to my surprise these bent but did not break and went together like a Tamiya kit.

I started with the idle wheels which come in four pieces which include the hub cap the front and rear wheel and of course the dreaded N parts.

Once completed you get to build the idle gear and with a bolt that needed to be filed down trying to get it to sit still in my little pudgy fingers was hilarious to the carer, as it bounced onto the floor for the fifth time she decided that was not so funny.

So with the bolt securely on the idle mount and shaft in place I moved on to the drive sprockets. The sprockets come in two halves much like on most of the 1/35th scale tanks and fitted together with ease

So onto the wheels which come in four parts the road wheel, the hub, tyre and rim.

The next picture is with the rim fitted.

Tyre fitted.

Adding the tandem wheel.

Suspension

Completed suspension.

So far I have to say it has been a pleasure to build and I am enjoying this blog build even if it is my first time.

It has been a week or so since I updated my build on the Chieftain Mk 2 and I apologise for this.
So on with the build the part of the build is to put together the suspension for the twin wheel mount and guide wheels. I have cut out the parts for you to see in the next picture.

I have then assembled them it is a real easy kit to build so far.

The top half of the hull has some large moulds sticking out from the hull that need to cut off.

You can clearly see this in the picture above.

I dry fitted the bottom of the hull to show you how the moulded plastic would cause an issue if not removed.
I have chosen to not follow the instructions completely and instead of adding the suspension and tracks I have made them and will put them on after I have the hull together and primed.
