Hi Tom - man, you're on a roll these days! Looks like another great build under way - I agree with Jerry, with the trees, it will look like a grand boulevard - nice!
Cheers

Thanks for your confidence.
I may have bitten more than I can chew with the trees.
It's going to take some time to do all these.
Question I can't seem to find an answer to.I have the Miniart French Civilian 30's and 40's kit I'm going to use.In it is a police officer.Would they be aloud police at this point???
Thanks,
Tom

As the trees will be in the background and not a focal point I wouldn't worry about making them spectacular. You can do a decent job and it will still work. Yes,the police were in place throughout the time period. I have seen videos of the liberation of Paris and they are in them.

This is getting epic! Nice layout and you chose some nice figs that make sense. If you go to a good well stocked model train store or even on line stores they also offer large paper backdrops showing different scenery like cities and countryside. It would look great behind your big scene.

Hey Tom!
you are doing a great work! what I like best is the figures you are planning to use: they will give your diorama a real sense of reality!
May I suggest to research better the priest outfit, though?
Catholic priests are supposed to wear a blak scarf as well while red is reserved for high level on the Church hierarchy such as cardinals and bishops; to me it is very unlikely that a such high level prelate would have walked alone in the street as a common bystander, a common priest seems to me more logical, so black is better
hope to have been of use

Thanks guys,
Good idea Jerry, though finding hobby shops is getting harder and harder.
Thanks Edo.
I wondered about that, not being Catholic just wanted to add some color to him.Black is on the box art and black it will be.

Great work!
Ditto on nixing the red sash on the Catholic priest.
Small suggestion: Consider putting a French marked Stuart in the lead as the US Commanders were told to allow the French units to enter the city first - just a thought!

Hi Tom,
Very nice work as always! Nice to see such a dynamic scene - certainly lots going on, but still looking quite cohesive! Sorry to read of your problems with that motorcycle - no fun at all....looking forward to your next update -
Cheers

It's a good sign when every time I look in here you have made such significant improvements. This is very very cool. I don't think I have ever seen a dio done on the liberation of Paris.

Tom!
I really like what you've done here, bravo!! This has a lot going on and you've done it smoothly, not full of clutter.
Well done so far, will be following.
Best wishes
Dave

Thanks guys,
Coming along.
Michael the sash has been fixed. Can't tell from the last photo ,only showing his back.As for the French tank,I picture this as just a small scene from a long line of vehicles, back and front. The French are at the start of the line?
I'll stick to that thought.

Sorry guys,
Me again.
Finally got the motorcycle figured out.Had to go to their site and see images of the finished kit. Basically their instructions stink.Your always guessing where parts go.The lines go vaguely in the area and no detailed diagrams.
I also bought another Willys on the weekend.Probably will use that or see if three will work.
As always ask your opinions first.

Hi all.
Small update.
Decided to switch the Stewart to a scout car.Commader looking to see how long the line up is.
Driver, when painted is from Bronco with a helmet change.
Changed the first Willy to a new one.I want a MP jeep.Have to change the drivers arm.It is exactly the same as the Bronco driver in the first jeep. One of them is coping molds?

This is looking awesome, Tom!! I like your choice of vehicles in the column & the figures are really adding to the overall sense of the scene. Great work so far!
Even my pick-up is panzer grey.

I like all of the additions going on ere. Looks good and it makes sense. Well,I just noticed something a bit "off". I think, given the rather peaceful situation here, that the GI with the fixed bayonet is a little much ? Maybe snip that bayonet off ? Bayonets were usually only fixed in desperate situations or guarding POWs,etc.

I like all the additions and feel flattered that you took my bayonet advice as well.
Most folks are not aware that during the war the people of Paris stockpiled large quantities of Tamiya paint, stacked by the roadsides. Just in case. heheh
