I want to mix 70% Tamiya blue with 30% MM acryl white, to achieve a lite blue. Both are acrylic.. then airbrush this mixture....Should I attempt it?

Mixing different brands of acrylic should not be any probelm. If you have used both seperately you know what each is normally thinned with and how much.
As always to be safe ... try on some scrap plastic first.
I only use tamiya acrylic and have never tried to do this but I cant see any problems!

I can't for the life of me remember where I saw it but just in the last day or so I saw somthing about not being able to mix MM acrylics. If I can find it I'll post. I THINK it was on some site giving color matches between Humbrol and other paints.

Why not make life easy and just get some Tamiya white (or MM blue)?

I don't think I would mix the two. It may work fine, but it seems logical to stick with one brand when mixing...

Speaking from personal experience, I would never do it again, it was a disaster.

I do it from time to time.... some times it works, sometimes it gets bubby. I susually do it in small amounts so it's not an issue, but I've done larger batches that did not apply well, and others that have.

I've done it too. It usually works out OK for me if I use it right away, but if I store it for a long time, it turns to gell or hardens in the bottle.

I would not mix different brands. While they are all acrylic some are acohol based while others are not.

Your right guys, I dont think Im going to mix them. I want a darker shade of MM acryl's Duck Egg blue, so maybe Ill add some MM dark blue to Duck Egg blue.. What Im trying to achieve is posted in the airplane forum. A Dark blue/Light blue Camo P47M, 56th squardon, out of england. No where I have found the correct shade names to use.
