I didnt see any of those advantages during the 1st Gulf War. All I saw were burning BMP's.

AMEN Lou!
Ulises, it's a 25mm Bushmaster gun. British Warrior's have 30mm guns.
And at one point in time, the Bradley did have a swim barrier attached around the top of the turret for amphibious operations.

It's a 73 mm ineffective gun which can not be fired (effectively) while moving - how does that translate to an advantage over the 25 mm Bushmaster which can be fired with great accuracy also while moving ?

Hardly an advantage in the main operational areas of the BMP-1 used in anger: Africa and the Middle East.

If you hit the BMP along the bottom side just behind the road wheels with a 50.cal. It would chew it up like swiss cheese. Tried it the first night of the ground war. BMP's would leak like sump. Very cramped inside. Just a horrible machine.

I killed them easily enough during Desert Storm. 10-15 rounds of M791 APDS and you had a dead BIMP. TOWs (which we had 7) was a waste on BMP, and my M2A1 could "swim" if needed...not a whole lot of use for it in the desert though.

Keep in mind - at the time the BMP-1 was introduced, the US was using M113's. Which of those two vehicles do you think was superior?
The Brad was the US response to the BMP and it came along nearly a decade later. By that time, the Russians had started deploying the BMP-2.

True, but irrelevant. The comparison is between the BMP-1 and the Bradley, not the M113. How FAIR is that? You might have a point there...
