Revell of Germany have announced their Leopard 2A6 EX in 1/35 scale for October 2004. As Italeri announced the release of the kit of the same tank earlier, it is safe to assume that we will get the same plastic and the difference between two will be box, instructions and decals. And the price - RoG kit will probably be more expensive.

The Italeri offering was the Leo2A6, not the Leo2A6EX.
Leo2A6 is basically a 2A5 with L55 gun tube.
Leo2A6EX is the newer, uparmored and upgunned version.
The 2A6EX has nearly the same add-on armour as the Strv 122
It aslo has the L55 gun and some other new gadgets.

Thanks, but I know very well what is the difference between Leo 2A6 and Leo 2A6 EX. And Italeri announced Leopard 2A6 EX kit number 6435 for December 2004. See this thread with the list of all Italeri releases for 2004: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/24441&page=1

Italeri never made a model kit of Leo 2A6. They only had Leo 2 (No. 243), Leo 2 Improved (No. 280), and Leo 2A5 KWS (No. 365). Revel sells updated version of Italeri Leo 2 kit, with parts added and modified to make it Leo 2A4 (Italeri never sold this version).

Tamiya announced a model of Leopard 2A6 to be released this month in Japan.
