I just got the Takom kit yesterday and I think it's a great kit.. but that's just my "non-expert" opinion

As to your question, according to the instructions the Trumpeter kit also has the fuel lines.

They both look good but the Takom kit includes the radio fit in the turret, which Trumpeter is missing, and also includes seperate details specific to both Soviet and NVA vehicles (rear mud-flaps and verladekeile) which clinches it for me.

One other difference. The Takom kit has a folded vinyl tarp for the turret top. It is meant to rest on top of the brass shell catcher on the turret rear. This does not appear as an option on the Trumpeter kit.

From what I understand, the Takom kit ammo arrangement isn't correct vs the Trumpeter kit either.

I just compared the instructions from the Takom kit with the photos of the Trumpeter kit and from what I can see, the ammo arrangement in the turrets is identical in both kits as far as location and number of shells/number of racks. Rounds look the same size as well, and would probably need to be to make it all fit.

Surely the biggest issue with the T-62 was the wonky rear hull, with the final drive locations being out as well. Making up a few fuel lines is a doddle compared to fixing that lot.

they both have their good points. the Takom kit has the Radio, separate fenders and much better tracks. the Trumpy kit has a nice bending jig for the turret basket P.E. and the ammunition racks are moulded separate from the rounds. also trumpy includes decals for the shell casings.

trumpy on left Takom on right

again Trumpeter on left Takom on right. trumpy gives you 48 clips of 4 rounds, Takom 55

I bought 2 sets of the Magic model barrels for them, highly recommended

And thx to the info from Andy (regarding the NVA specific things, NVA being the former east army) my choice has been made

Thx,

Sam.

The ammunition holders are a bit basic on the Takom kit as mentioned and the clamps that hold the turret wall mounted clips are missing, as are the the corner braces for the floor mounted rounds. Cabling for radio and intercom will need to be added, but at least the radio is there (unlike trumpeter). Neither kit includes the rear mounted fuel tanks so opportunities for aftermarket here (or just pinch them from another kit. I'm going to dig out my old Armo kit and see if I can use some of its etch, if not I'll wait for a bespoke set.

I choose the Trumpeter kit because it was a bit cheaper. More importantly, the Takom t-55 wheels have a seam after gluing the rims on and it is really hard to fill and remove it. I am dreading doing it on the AMV kit. Other than this Takom kits have generally better molding technology with sharper details.

Right hand turret inside wall. You can just see it here on left of picture:

and here too in right hand pic:

I'm sure I have a better pic somewhere.

I'm working on the takom's one and the interior is incredibly well detailed and not too hard to build.
Just one thing, what is the colour of the shells suposed to be? tnere is no information about it in the instructions booklet.
