Hi all!

I got the Trumpeter Challenger 2 KFOR kit.
I noticed, that there are two different styles of the gunners hatch included.
My guess, it´s an early and a late style.
But which is which?
And, do I have to check references if I build a certain vehicle, or were the old hatches completely replaced by the new stayle hatch?

Check you references Thomas.
I just ran into that problem too. I have the Operation Telic version and out of all the vehicles on the decal page, only one has the style of gun mount with that bar in front. I had to look in 2 of the Concord books I have. Vol 5 of the Heliborne series and #27 of the Special Ops series. The instructions dont tell you want gun mount to use for what vehicle.

from information i have receved from a tankie inthe r.s.d.g. is the frame type is the erly one and the one pece type is the later so if your doing a op d.s.you can use both after d.s. only use the late BUT he did see a chally 2 in 1996 with the older style gunners mount hope this now adds to the confusion

Well... the first Challenger 2 was handed over to RSDG on June 30th, 1998. Only Challenger 1 tank was used in ODS and in 1996.

So,

the early type is based on kit part E 51 and the late one on kit part E 33?

Am I correct?

i stand corected right police action wrong place kosovo thay used chalanger 1 mk3 and the new chalanger2 with the frame type mg mount later to chang to the now standerd pintl mount (miss information corected )
