hi 1907
you can paint the walls of thi ruin in Humbrol 95 matt Concrete or Humbrol 97 Matt Egg shell or any lighter tone of gray. It doesnt matter if you will weather it. You can weather it in darker tone washes or pastel chalks

I think you can do some washes and drybrushes with different tones of sandcolor. Not only gives this the building a more dusty look it will also give it a more warm look wich you often find in those countries.
Did you make the building yourself or is it a bought piece?? Looks nice. tells us a bit more about the dio.

Traditionally Middle East houses, especially in the Gulf region, are made adobe style. Mud bricks made from local clay and straw choppings. Walls are then rendered with a scree of similar ingredients as a form of plaster.
I suppose what I'm trying to say is they should be sandy in colour.
More modern buildings are as for anywhere else, but even then the predominant colours tend to be sandy, beige or tan if not white.
When my imminent A-guard membership comes on-line and I get the extra storage space I will post some pics in my gallery.
Cheers
Peter

thanks for givin me ideas about ruin colors. flitzer it would be great to see your example as well. faust, i dont have a specific story about the dio yet , still thinkin on it.kit is a bought one . there might be some mujaheddin soldiers hide in ruin and glazing at american vehicles. or it might represent afghan-soviet war... but i have really diffuculty to find some figures, so am not sure yet now what to do... greywolf , if i paint the ruin with Humbrol 97 what should be the soil like? i dont want to bring a desert scene to my dio so what color can i use for soil if i paint the ruin in matt egg? Thanks mate...
the . kit is verlindens afghan/middle east house ruin.

Hi 1907
like I said as soon as I get the extra capacity I'll pop a couple of adobe building pics in my gallery.
Or I could e-mail you some for your reference.
Cheers
