An article in the September 2016 Fine Scale Modeler talked about making bedspring armor from the mesh of a deep-fat fryer scoop and copper sheet cut, shaped, and super-glued together for the frame.

I just saw one in a local hobby shop near where I live. However I am in Vancouver Canada. I have built that kit and it is a pig. You might want to consider starting with a different model and using the Aber or ET screens.

I built the Dragon kit and didn't use the bedspring armor. You can have them for free if you want.
