well, here it is... my first ever done armor it's a 1/35 scale Maquette PzKpfw 38(t). It took me more than 2 months to do this model becouse of too litlle available time for modeling... I know , since its my first that there will be much critics from you guys, but im actualy looking forward to them since thats the only way to learn to do things better. Well, it had single link tracks (i said OUCH when i first opened the box...)
but it took me some , hmmm, 5 dayd to cleanup all pieces and assemble the tracks folowing the instructions i found on Armorama.
General idea for this vehicle is to be placed on a Diorama called "Captured Bridge" Where German forces ( 38(t) , BMW R75 motocycle with trailer and a kubelwagen) are crossing the recently captured russian stone bridge (will take some shots of the bridge itself very soon, im still making it from styrofoam, clay and ofc stones). scene also includes a abandoned russian AT gun, shells all over hte place and some 11 figs (5 of them involved in taking a memo picture in front of a tank)... ofc there will be some trees, stones and a river under the bridge. Im looking forward to all replys and critics, advices etc
one important notice! all models are brush painted (i dont have AB) figs still not completed , i will also add some more "dust" from pastels on the tank when i finish the whole scene. and notice for future builders of this model... tracks have HEAVY molds , lots of time needed to clean them up and Decals aint worth for use (my bad luck i noticed it AFTER i applied them, they tear apart even when sealed with gloss surface!)
some Pictures are folowing... others are in my gallery here on Armorama, im sorry if pics are not good enough but i bought the camera yesterday and still learning how to use it

Ola Sensei.
That must be one of the best handpainted models I have ever seen congrats on that. I really like the Used, Dusty appearance of your tank. Tracks are really good maybe a little rustcoloured wash but they are ok. Even if the Decal was ripped apart I like the view of it shows good wear and tear on the tank. How did you do the mud on the roadwheels?? is it painted? or is that pastels.
When you Use the pastels for further weathering try to do some Light coloured sand/dust pastels and dirty up to the half of the tank this will break the dark appearance of it a bit.
Really great job on this vehicle especially regarding this is your first piece of Armor. Simply outstanding.
I also like your dio Lay out and the figures are really nice. Is that Set of figures in front of the 38T a set figures from ICM (Revell reboxed some of their stuff I believe) or is it another brand. I would definately like to see the scene when finished
Keep in updated on the progress

Tnx for coments, The mud is real dirt mixed with some pastels and a white glue/water :-) when aplied it dries and sticks good becouse of white glue. and, YES the figs are revell (re-boxed ICM), at least the ones with the thank, others are mix of ICM (officer on the left) and Italeri (BMW motocycle crew),. And since as i said i just bought a digital camera, i think there will be no problem of keeping u all updated of the progress

Sensei, I cannot believe that is a handpainted model. You’ve done an outstanding job on it. And it’s your first one? You’ve certainly set a high bar to clear for your next one. I can’t wait to see the final diorama. It looks like it will be a real stunner. Congrats.

Very good job on a very tough kit...you sure didn't give yourself an easy job starting with this Maquette kit...I have it some where in my pile of kits but haven't got the patience to fill all those sink holes and all that clean up..One thing I noticed is your convoy lights look bright ..seems to me that they were not that noticable for real ...check your refrences but I just see too much red back there...and they should be covered in dust to match the rest of the tank..One other thing I would do is change the Antennae, it looks too chunky .Keep up the good work on your dio...

In general, this looks very good. I like the layout of the dio as well, big area but you've filled it well.
Okay, I'd not worry too muchj about the antenna. I did a quick check of a referemce and this tank's antenna seems to be significantly thicker than most others, not of a mast, than an antenna.
The right rear idler looks to be off kilter in the rear shot, but it could be the angle of the picture.
Other than that, a very good first effort.

I love the idea of the memento photo he is taking. And the hand guiding the guys to get closer to each other or whatever is great. IMHO there has to be an idea in a diorama and you've found it.
The only thing that doesn't quite fit is the clear white inside of the turret hatch. Maybe put some skidmarks/dirt there? In general, I can only wish I could paint like you can.

Hello Sensei, I'm doing my first armor to, and after I got my kit and opened it, at first I thought they slipped me a 1/72 cause everything seemed so small, I even picked up the box to recheck, and after seeing what your up against I believe you done one mighty fine job, I'll be tickled pink if I do half as good. This is a whole different ball game over cars and boats, and I, same as you are going to haft to use brushes, but the only things that caught my eyes was the white inside the turret being to white, and the tail lights being to bright, just like the others said, other then that you done real good on making them rivits stand out, after looking at mine, I seen bigger piles of fly poop, and to get them to stand out is real good, I can't wait to see your finished dio.
