It depends on which type of ammo you are painting. Also, the shell casings are brass.

Basic HE (High Explosive) rounds are yellow.


HE ER (Extended Range) are green.



HE AP (Armor Piercing) is gray with a steel tip (no pic of course).

There are a few other colors too, but those are the most common.

I have a question.. are these ammunition colors standard no matter what the nationality of the vehicle is, whether it's Russian or Vietnamese or whatever? So, will the ammunition always have these same colors no matter in which country it's being used?
