It depends on which type of ammo you are painting. Also, the shell casings are brass.
Basic HE (High Explosive) rounds are yellow.
HE ER (Extended Range) are green.
HE AP (Armor Piercing) is gray with a steel tip (no pic of course).
You can see the 57mm rounds in the middle pf this pic.
There are a few other colors too, but those are the most common.

Ammo shell brass.
Grenade neck is copper stripe, body black.
Antiaircraft ammo UOR-281U (shrapnel) peak (MG-57 collector) silver (aluminum), body black.
Armor piercing UBR-281U ammo granate body black.
Stripper clip black.

Arty : The ZSU - 57-2 at the time there were no such modern ammunition ask you ate.
To clarify a bit , maybe I know him better with you (only a couple of years manufactured ammunition , pipe and others , as well as educating and firings have also made my father a few times ....)

I have a question.. are these ammunition colors standard no matter what the nationality of the vehicle is, whether it's Russian or Vietnamese or whatever? I plan to build mine as either an Egyptian vehicle.. or a Syrian vehicle - one of the guys on FB posted a pic of one used by the Kurds in northern Syria.. So, will the ammunition always have these same colors no matter in which country it's being used?

Charlye the combined firing equipment and aquifers are white- painted , But sooner or black , black, or in addition to the buttons and a wheel , green stem , the latter Water Bottle of aluminum , votes against painted canvas held. Ammos respect to this original standard , produced mainly in the South Slavs other types, developed with different colors. The main thing is that obtained from the ammunition . because the former Warsaw Pact , as well as the Russian original one. Syria, Iraq and specifically what ( at the time of the Hungarian People's Republic) We exported guns (S -60) , ammunition, cords forms trainers , cannon tubes ....
