Others with better knowledge will chime in, but I remember reading somewhere about the IDF using an ambush tactic where one tank in a squadron would "paint" the enemy tanks with its searchlight, while the others would pick them off one by one. Obviously the tank with the light is a bit exposed, but the others are not seen until they fire, at which point it is too late. IIRC this action was with Cents and M51s, but I expect the same could be done with the M60A1?

I know, it's not the '73 war and no M60's but Centurions, but still...Some of the night tank battles of the Six Days War explained here (31:50) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cehD_pdYDV8
