i also wanna their upgrade of sd.kfz.250/1 spw alte(dr6117) for modern smart kit

Cool! I have always liked the "fast back" look of this 250. I am among the many who have cobbled together a model version of this vehicle.

This seriously brings my respect for Dragon back up. And look, not an ounce of DS...not even the tires.

G'day Jerry

A relatively well known modelling person stated recently that he was at a meeting some years ago which included all of the major industry players. At that meeting, the subject of the Berge came up, and he advised that, as Italeri did not make their projected profit on the kit they produced, nobody else was interested in producing one.

Besides, Italeri own the rights to the Berge until 2052 or thereabouts!

Suggest, like me, you don't hold your breath waiting for a new Bergepanther any time soon.

Regards

Rob

Rob, that story sounds quite weird to me... Why should the major players meet and reveal what products are profitable for them? And comment about future plans? This does not happen in any market I know.

Also Italeri can have the rights on their kit, nothing more. Any company is free to research and produce their own. Like the Tiger, Panther, T-34, Sherman... that Italeri has like many others.

As for the profit, I would put my money on it. It's a cool looking vehicle, with only one (old) alternative.

From my point of view, the problem would be lack of detailed information for this open top vehicle, no one would be willing to produce a kit that sooner or later could be proven inaccurate...

Rob,

That post was written in jest, it is not based on anything but one person's exasperation at the near constant moaning of other persons about "why not this kit"... the guy is credible, that particular post is not.

I can't believe that a credible 252 with trailer is FINALLY here! I'm more excited than when they first announced their Tiger I initial kit a decade back! Originally listed as DRA-9056 the kit is finally available for all of us Stug Trolls who pleaded for one with which to complete a dio. I went so far as to buy two Cyber-Hobby 253 re-releases (CH-9128) and was prepared to perform some significant surgery on it to convert it. Well, no more! Did I mention how happy I was? This is waaayyy better than six different(?) Tiger IIs and re-releases of every other silly thing that they've produced over the years. Now I need a kit # so that I can get me a couple! Ye Ha!!!

Oh ya, and by the way, I'm still also waiting for Dragon's long-promised UHU kit (DRA-6251) which was also listed in their catalogues over seven years ago and never arrived. Sort of like DRA-6269 Tiger I 3in1 kit, or DRA-6227 251 Ausf A, etc! I really hate it when they announce, get you excited and then let it fade...

Would you like me to introduce you to Trumpeter's 1/32 TBD-1 Devastator which was announced over a decade ago? They keep listing it every year as new and coming soon, like it's a big joke.

Just came from the DragonUSA site where the kit is listed as pre-order November 2016 at a somewhat-steep $67.99 USD. Ouch! And I'll take two, please! And, oh ya, what did you want to say RotorHead67? It didn't come through so re-send it. Thanks.

They must have added it sometime today as it was not there this morning.

And I guess I'll be waiting for it to hit the Triple D before buying one.

So is ICM like some unknowable evil that shall not be mentioned? They have a Bergepanther and like Valdemort it is not to be mentioned. Jeez.

And finally for this! Does this mean there's hope for their M3 Lee or Sherman Jumbo?
