Hi Leopold. I built this a year ago ... straight from the box. Great kit and its one of Tamiya´s "squeeze the glue into the box, shake, and lift out the kit" models. What I mean is, it´s almost that easy! Great fit all over, good detail, little or no clean-up and really looks the part. No fillers or anything like that needed here! Looks great from the box, but if your into AM details, Id reccomend friul tracks as the first item. Even the figure has nice features and is very usable.

Hi, Agree wholeheartedly with Plasticbattle here. A great kit. And goes togerther all so easily. Only thing I replaced with the tracks with Fruilmodel ones. Sort of added the icing to the cake on it. But I have yet to find a Tamiya kit that wasn't all it was cracked up to be, even the old ones are pretty much still okay, just need a shade of up-dating here and there with after-market stuff is all
Take care, Sgirty

I have seen conflicting data about their presence in Berlin, but the evidence tends to lean toward 3 or4 Stalin 3's being brought up to the front to operate alongside a JS-2M unit to get some combat evaluations done on the new improved design before things came to a bloody end.

dont forget trumpeters JS III this one was more widely seen in service fits a little tricky in parts but it's less than 1/2 the price of the tamyia one like blue bear says it's not known if it seen combat during ww2 but it was present at the berlin victory parade not long after

The Soviet armor experts say that the Tamiya kit was based off of a pieced together museum piece and not a truly accurate JS-3. That being said, as a model kit, it is a superb kit that will be a dream to build.
The Trumpeter kit is more accurate and of a version that saw more action, but the quality isn't Tamiya.

mikeli125 makes a great point here. The Trump IS was a fun build. The tracks are terrible, but as others have mentioned, Friuls really make this beastie look great. Good luck on your build Leopold.
