OH MAN OH MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hobby Search has the spues and instructions showing for the new Rye Field Abrams kits. From what I can see in the instruction on the one with full interior, IT'S AWESOME. Only down side I see is some of the rear deck panels are molded close to show off the batteries and air filter.

CAN'T WAIT, CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!

Good news fro those who love building interiors but unlike APC or IFV, a tank won't show much of it. I know it from experience, I built a M1A1 with an interior

Yup, they both look awesome. I may need to get both. A good ODS-era Abrams w/T-156 tracks would be nice.

I know what you mean on the tank interior Olivier, I have done a few Abrams and other tanks w/interiors. You can see quite a bit through the hatches, but not all of it. I know it is there though. I love building interiors. I was looking at my stash the other day and found that I have interiors (either in the kit or AM) for almost all my armored vehicles. Guess I really am a glutton for punishment.

Looks good. Now I really want to see them release the initial M1 105mm gun tank kits.

Holy Crap! That's my old unit, D "Co" 1/3 ACR, they got the text for the pics backwards though. We were never considered a "Troop" back in my day, we were always called a tank "Company", even though everybody else was a troop. Each squadron had a separate tank company, we had no scouts like the troops did, I suppose that's the reason?

I don't understand the inclusion of the hull interior. As for a great exterior kit, I'm all for it.

Why not? For those of us who like interiors, it is great. If you don't want the interior, just get the earlier Rye Field M1A1/A2 TUSK release. The basic plastic is the same, just different decals.

I love interiors also even though so times you can't see them. I like to know that it is there and take all the in-progress pictures I can of the interiors. I like to add all the missing cables and such, especially when it comes to the radios. And looking at he instructions, it seems thats all this kit will need plus all the different warning placards and signs.

I understand liking interiors. I'm a big fan of them. However, how much of it can be seen, after final assembly?

Matt, Have you seen the youtube channel for Andy's Hobby Headqurters. He just finished a 3 part video on the new TAKOM King Tiger 2 and he displayed it all open. Thats what I would do with this new kit.

You can see a lot when they are all opened up. They don't always photograph well due to angles and focal length, but in person, you can see pretty much all the turret interior and driver's position.

More here.

Not much of the hull interior, though. That is what I was driving at.

The kit itself Matt or the real vehicle? If your talking about the kit, your correct. There is still a lot missing, especially under the turret tub. The fuel cells left and right of the drivers compartment couldn't have been added, but thats the fun thing, adding all those missing details and such.

If you mean the driver's area, it can be seen in person, just not easy to photograph. The rest of the hull areas look to be the area around the engine, which can easily be seen. The engine can also be removed, as it is on the boxtop, to show off under the engine.

Tank interiors love or hate em, it's all down to an individuals preference, personally I hate making model tanks as empty shells. Just feels to me that I'm making half a model. If only the kit makers would give us enough interior that shows through an open hatch, that would be enough. I don't always want to have hatches closed or the bare interior masked by a crewman in the hatchway. I really enjoy making the crew positions, seeing where the crew work and fight inside the tank. Without it it seems like a waste of empty space.
