What color were US pioneer tools painted in WW2? Thanks

OD the same as the vehicle colour. But on used tools the timber of the handles and also the steel on the blades would show with wear.

U.S. pioneer tools were usually painted OD along with the vehicle, but there are plenty of examples of tools with unpainted wooden handles and the metal parts painted either OD or black -- I think many of these may have been replacements for the original vehicles' tools. . Of course, wear and tear produced bare metal on the working edges of the tools.
