I believe it was used in Iraq, wondering if it was used only for the initial push into the country, part 2 of this would be, did they have it in Desert Storm?

It was used for the first time in Afghanistan by the USMC and never fielded in Iraq.
Håkan, if you search around the net there are some big beautiful pics of the beast in action, even there was some spectacular footage in YouTube.

Thank you, for starting a diorama that would've been totally wrong, so it was definitely used in Afghanistan.

I built mine into an army version in South Korea. Just wanted to be different 😬

Yes, the M1 ABV was developed in the mid-2000s and not fielded until '08-'09. Its first combat use was in A'stan in Helmand province in Dec '09. It has only been used in combat in A'stan and was not deployed to Iraq since there was no longer a minefield threat there.

Hi, ALL!!!
That PERFECT SCALE -ABV Conversion is a beautiful piece of work! And the DEF Mine Plow Conversion is, too! Too bad they're SO EXPENSIVE! I've always wanted to build/convert an M1 into the ABV variant...
Wish one of the companies that are falling all over themselves in producing M1A1 AIM/M1A2 SEP TUSK 1 & 2 kits would come out with the ABV AND the earlier "105"-versions...
Looks like it might be "scratch-building time" for some of us- What do you think Gino..?

Dear those-who-are-familiar-to-M1 ABV's,
Just a question to the specialists:
Would a very specialised vehicle like this, which most likely would be called only more forward after mines are expected, be fitted with a mine plough?
Just curious, since mine ploughs are not a vey common piece of equipment to all tanks. And these would logically be in the first lines.
Thanks for explaining!
P.

Nope, I am good on scratch-building for a while once I finish my M1074 PLS. I think I will take a break from scratch-building for a while.

The plow is standard equipment on the ABV, it usually has the plow fitted.
It can also be fitted with a Pearson Blade as well, but it is less commonly seen with it.

Hey, Gino!
I was half-kidding about scratch-building/converting an M1 ABV- I KNOW that you'll need a break after your efforts of basically re-building and scratch-building your M1074!
I'd want a LOOOONG BREAK after THAT kind of an involved effort, myself!

Thanks for that nice pictures Gino, i assume it's ok to paint the mine plow green too and the tank Sand colour.. About the 50 cal gun, is it possible to add a light on it like Meng models M1 kit, or a sight like live resin sells?

Nice kit James, but your kit is completly from Def models right? As the marking poles are not included in perfect scale kit..
