Ok gents,
A few extra pictures, last week I borrowed the digital camera of a friend but just got the pictures in the mail today (I need to get one myself )
In this overview shot you can see the first layer of sandbags (in the meantime the second is already attached and the barb-wire poles can also been seen (with the temp barb-wire)
more pictures can be seen in my gallery
http://nl.armorama.com/photos/showgallery.php?si=&perpage=10&sort=2&cat=12525&ppuser=790&friendemail=email@yourfriend.com&password=
Here is also a picture of the barb-wire
I know of the methode of Marty (www.modelhut.com) and it is a good methode, but I fount it a bit out of scale, so I am trying something else, it is going to be tedious but it looks stunning :-)
Any comments are welcome

Looks very unique to say the least Ronny! Where did this idea come from?
I'll assume that there will be lots of figures in it?
I know what it's like to not have a digi. camera. It's a bummer.
You'll get one soon.

Looks swell Roadkill , making that barbwire looks very tedious but looks like youre doing a great job on the whole project.

nice work roadkill, but to me, your barbed wire seems a little thick.

I like it. But since your making your own wire, have you seen that technique where you take the same wire you use for barbs and twist it then add the barbs every few centimeters. II saw it in Fine Scale Modeler (May 1990). It looks very realistic and in scale.

Kencelot,
The idea is already a few months old, Initially I planned to make a scene of a drill sergeant pushing a grunt through a obstacle course but after some initial dry fitting the scene would not look right in 1/35 scale because the top of the rifle-stock is to narrow.
It could be done in 1/72 but that is not my thing
Last November at the Armorama-KMK workshop a KMK member suggested a trench scene, and I liked the idea. In the beginning I planned a WW1 scene but because I have no WW1 figures and did not wanted to spend a lot of money on resin figures I decided to use what I have.
So it is a WW2 scene where 3 GI's are carefully walking thru a narrow connection trench, seeking out the Germans
Yes I know the technique, in fact you can find it on my website (tips section) and on www.modelhut.com
With the wire I had at hand it was to thick but in the meanwhile I found some electrical wire consisting of 8 "very thin" pieces of wire and I twisted 4 by using my dremel.
It looks fantastic, but I have no pictures to show you yet

Ronny, this dio looks very nice, indeed. Its creativity factor is a 10+ and lokks to be coming together nicely. I wish you luck in the rest of the project and post pics as soon as you can borrow your friend's camera again.

hi Ronny,
very good idea for a dio, nice figure choices, good work on the poles and good start for the barbed wire. I just have one question on the mind when I see the first photo; I think te main wire than you are making the barbed wire looks a litle thick when compared with the poles.

Tnx guys :-)
Graywolf, you are right it is to thick and in the meanwhile I scaled it down bu finding some electrical wire containing 8 very thin wires and I twisted 4 together, now it looks more to scale

Hey Ronny,
I am glad you reworeked your barbed wire. It really bothered me the way it looked (not very realistic) on the photo you posted. I can't wait to see how it looks now.
