Howdy all.
I have a question about aftermarket stuff for a Tamiya 1/35 Sdkfz 251/9 Ausf D. I have tracks lined up ,but don't know what to get to improve the detail of the kit. The only thing I can find specifically for this vehicle is a Verlinden set that has some photo etch and stowage type stuff. Other than that all I can find for Tamiya kits are other versions, i.e., 251/1, 251/7 and what not.
So my questions are these: anybody have experience with the Verlinden set? and; will the other version stuff work for a 251/9 as long as it is the Ausf D?
My knowledge of these vehicles is severely limited, so any help would be appreciated.

Any turned metal ammunition set intended for the German 7.5 cm L/24 gun would work (the gun was used on Panzer IV A through F, and Panzer III N). The Hobby Boss workable styrene tracks are designed for the Tamiya kit, so you may want to use those. Tracks from other makers may be intended for the Dragon or AFV Club kits, and may not fit well on Tamiya's drive sprocket.
Eduard offers a photoetch set for the 251/1 Ausf. D by Tamiya, and most of the parts will also work on the 251/9. The catalog number is 35113.

What I did was combine the best of two kits. I Used Dragons 250/11 and Tamiya's 250/9. That would give you more options.

We're talking 251s, not 250s.

There are a number of 251 front wheel sets in resin, for instance from Hussar or Bitskrieg/Quickwheels.

I have the same kit and I bought the Eduard 251/1 PE kit, much of which can be used on the 251/9. AFV also makes a nifty set of width indicators. If you don't mind one piece tracks that actually look OK, the AFV "Tracks and Whells" (sic) kit has a full wheel, suspension and track assortment, including a vastly improved steerable steering mechanism and refined front wheels. The resin suspension attachments come up a little short so some putty filling on the rear is required - a simple fix. Hobby Boss also makes indy links for a cheap price and it should be no prob sourcing Dragon ones as many kits came with two track options resulting in many unused tracks! HTH
