AS seen at HobbyEasy, eta the first week of December, and costing less than $15US, contains air con unit, stool, seat, a "Turkish" pipe, and an AK with scope.

I agree.. that would have been much more useful than a chair or a water pipe... In most Arab countries, I don't think you can find a roof that doesn't have a bunch of dishes.. especially in poorer, more densely populated areas.

There are a bunch of options for 3D printed satellite dishes as well. 3D In Scale at Shapways has some, plus a bunch of other great items.

I've seen the ones by MAIM, but when I asked them, they said they only ship to Egypt by private courier.. so shipping would be extremely expensive for me.
As for smaller companies that usually only use PayPal, I can't buy from them. After years of not having PayPal in Egypt, they finally set up a system where I can link a PayPal account to my Mastercard, and I actually used it a few times.. then something happened, which neither I nor PayPal nor the issuing bank here can figure out.. but long story short.. I'm back to not being able to use PayPal
That's why I'm happy when a company like MENG does accessories like these, because it's easy, and not expensive, for me to buy them

Correct, it's a quite common sight on Bedouin tents in the northern part of the Negev desert.

We were on our way to the Dead Sea, and it was a Bedouin tent, and they were selling camel rides to tourists on the ugliest, meanest camel I had ever seen. I didn't get within ten feet of the thing. The tents were about 25 yds from the highway, and there were two large tents, a couple of dishes and a Subaru.

I guess it depends on your budget and how badly you want them. To some, that is reasonable, others not so much. To each their own.

I would like to say I am happy to see this, but there's nothing Middle Eastern about the chairs and table and we can get weapons everywhere. So really, all this is that's Middle Eastern is the air conditioning unit and pipe. Does that qualify as a hooka?
For a true Middle Eastern set I would love to see:
- the very particular cement blocks used in Middle Eastern construction (many styles that are quite different from North American cement blocks)
- a satellite dish
- one of those large plastic red water tanks you see on top of just about every building in Syria
- a rolling steel curtain for a store front
- ISIS, FSA, Red Crescent decals
- fire rescue helmets
- propane tanks
- different versions of hookas with the flexible hoses
- ac unit (check)
I've amassed thousands of photos on Syria so if Meng really wants to do a Middle Eastern set that's useful I'd be happy to share them
Cheers!
Chris

To tell you the truth, the Hookas you see at coffee shops usually have the flexible hose.. while the one in the pic is usually found in homes.. and usually for hashish

I saw once a SLA T-55 (Tiran...?) crew somewhere in Southern Lebanon smoking a shisha next to their tank while they were waiting for the engine to warm up...

Just looked at the 3D in Scale site. For those sorts of prices I'd want a real sattelite dish! MAIM's prices are more realistic but 3D's seem extortionate for what you're actually getting.

Welcome to the 3D printing business. You'll notice the amnounts Shapeways charges for their services is utterly ridiculous.
