Which Nagmachon by Hobby Boss or Tiger is the better kit? I have noticed a BIG price difference.

Thanks for your assistance,

Mike

Tiger, every time. I've one in the stash, the one with slat, and to look at the kit, you'd think it was a Tamiya one.

If you do go ahead and get one, and it is the Tiger kit with slat, do not add the forward smoke grenade boxes, this is an error in the kit. I will find some photographs to show that these are not fitted when the slat armor is used.

About the only after market needed is the shakles used to fix the chains on the side skirts. These are available from Shapeways for a reasonable price.

do it, you know you want to / two.

In this case the "good things ain't cheap - cheap things ain't good" rule applies. The HB kit doesn't even include chains for the bazooka plates and tow cable(s) - two very prominent features of the "Nagmachon". The Tiger model offering is a true multi-media kit with excellent details and fitting.

The detail is to thick on the Tiger models Nagmachon you cannot have any of the side skirts removed or misaligned as they are usually found on the real thing. The doghouse requires a lot of filling for such a pricey kit.
The HobbyBoss one has its flaws, as in the front armour is wrong and you have to cut the inner windows out. The small shackles and chain for both of them needs to be sought else where!!! The HobbyBoss kit gives you the much more widely used and up to date Centurion Batash track. The hush puppies were only used in the towns to stop destroying the tarmac!! The bar armour in the HobbyBoss kit is far superior to the Tiger Models one.
The is only my opinion though!!!

Paul.

The Tiger models kit is one of the best kits I've built in years, there is a thread in this forum on the build.
