Can't tell from the pics if there is zimmerit or not. Don't understand why Tamiya doesn't do zimmerit, everyone else does. (I'll probably still get one, though, and it'll stay in the box until there's AM zimmerit!) Although with a bit of work it can be back-dated to a Ferdinand.

I bet the sponson plates will be missing if it's the Big T, saving plastic.

The kit number is not even listed at the Tamiya site. But someone seems to have got one ahead of the pack:

Link and length tracks -- yeah!

Don't you just love reviews that make note of pro's, and not a single con is mentioned? Especially when the most obvious con is the absence of zimmerit? When Dragon released a German tank without the necessary zimmerit, they were criticized to the point where they finally moulded very nice examples. Apparently, Tamiya doesn't have to because everything, and anything, they release is just fine with everyone. Rant over, and cons notwithstanding, I'll probably buy one anyway then wait for AM zimmerit.

Very happy to see this. But I'll still keep my Bandai Elephant, too.

Making zimmerit in 1/48 is a pain. I'm certain a 1/48 AM set will be out hot on the release of Tamiya's kit.

I believe the lack of in box zimmerit is a delibrate choice to allow the builder more freedom in how they wish to go about regarding this detail. Either you add your own scratch built zimmerit or can choose to go with their seperate adhesive zimmerit set shown in the instructions.

Hmmm...just like open sponsons is left to the modeller to decide whether he wants them, or not.

I see that Tamiya didn't include a half-figure of a pointing TC to stick in the hatch. A real rebel move on it's part.

The parts for the fenders also fill in the bottom of the sponsons
