Next I painted all the detail on the webbing:
Added the AK74
And that is pretty much it.

I tend to agree that the second is the better. I also think it would look better if the vehicle were at more of an angle relative to the gate, although I understand that you need a clear view of the gate to show the soldiers standing behind. Really nice work on the uniforms. Quiet impressive in fact.

Thank you DVSand. I agree with the second version. Showcases better the figures.

If you are serious about the kitty the company Mantis Miniatures has a few in resin.

Nice work!
Are you trying to simulate asphalt or concrete for the driveway? Also, did you consider a sidewalk perhaps?
I really like the second set-up as it shows the gate more and puts the foci less on the sign.
Looking forward to more photos! Great work on the figures!

Thank you Jerry and Patrick. Yes I am serious about the cat. I have the zvezda "polite People" set that comes with a kitty. I am thinking of using that one.
And Patrick, as for the driveway and sidewalk, I tried to go as close as I could to the refference photos. Not sure if it is concrete or asphalt. I just wanted to recreate a scene that would make some recall the original picture or news clip.

And you are doing that well, sir, very well, in point of fact! Just need that smudgy sky that always seems to permeate the Eastern Bloc skies.

Hi Marcos,
Very nice work! And the cat fits nicely into the story ... I like how he seems fixated on the paper airplane!
Congrats! 🍻

Deciding on next project. I either fix my Afghan dio or start on a T-90MS from Trumpy that is sitting in my closet.

Nice finish to your project. There is nothing like a small domestic animal included in a scene to make us humans and the things we do look ridiculous sometimes !
Well done !
