Don't be holding your breath! From what I've heard and seen, the kit is a virtual "snap kit" or "quick build" similar to some recent Trumpeter upcoming releases. At least thats the current "scuttlebutt".

FWIW, the kit is just over 40 parts on two sprues with one just the turret halves. Body halves are also separate and the main sprue and suspension are:

Great Jan! I presume that what I'm looking at is the IIID? And that the IV will most likely come from some of the same sprues. Still it will be the only game in town other than Cromwell's. Still very happy for it! I've seen three "wishes" come true with the Strv 122, T-64s, and now a Merk IV in recent years.

What I'm hoping for is for Hobby Boss to release their Cadillac Gage V series in 1/72. Chances are that won't be happening in my lifetime.

My questions is why make this a simplified kit? Other than the obvious to attract younger persons to the hobby. What other benefit is there for these simplified kits.

Keep the faith Charlie, since they already have the 35th scale example to go by, you may be pleasantly surprised.

In reference to simplified kits, you mentioned one very good reason. I believe it also cuts down on initial costs to create the molds and it brings in the wargaming enthusiasts for quick build examples. IMHO.

And you can always take the kit and detail it as much as your skills and desire allow. There are so many examples on this forum of this. Hopefully other manufacturers (Revell?) follow with a more detailed example.
