Hi guys,
What are the difference's between the Chinese type 80 spaag compared to the zsu-57-2.
My understanding could be gun differences? If so what? Also I understand that the type 80 was based on the type 69-2 tank.
Cheers Mike

AFAIK, the Type 80 SPAAG is rather based on the Type 69-II chassis (you can notice the distinctive bulge on the rear engine plate in the picture below)...

Hello Henri,
How are things in France my friend , I was of the same opinion as yourself re them being built on the type 69.
Just not sure if they just put the turret from the ZSU-57-2, or if there were other changes, I thought they may have changed to guns slightly??

Apparently, Iraq deployed some Type 80's during the Iraq-Iran war and the first Gulf War as well...

Regarding the camo scheme in the last picture, maybe it was not used operationally...Here a Type 85 with the same camo which was on display in the very same place :
According to the Google-translated caption, this was an exhibition of phased-out AFV's...

Once again many thanks Frenchy, to be honest I preferred the original camo scheme more any way,
