The latest news from Dragon is Tiger I (mid) with a Borgward IV Ausf.A heavy demolition vehicle. The Borgward was remotely controlled from the tank.

Is this another David Byrden project? If so, then count me in!

Is it the old tool of the Borgward or did they retool something?

The features illustrations are suspiciously quiet about the Borgward. They probably didn't retool a thing.

So this is a rebox of kit no. 6700? Looks like clear parts and SOME of the PE is still there albeit with DS tracks. The Borgward is most likely the 1999 DML rebox of the old Gunze kit. Still if the price is right it may do well. If it is overpriced, the solution is easy: The Borgward is still easy to find under both Dragon and Revell for about $17. The Tiger can still be found as well.

I have submitted drawings for the decals and the antenna.
The marketing materials show a "new tooled engine hatch", but really, it should not be there.

The Borgward is most likely the 1999 DML rebox of the old Gunze kit.
I think it's the other way around, Gunze also reboxed some Dragon kits, in the case of the Borgward in a Panzer III package (I have one for sale if anyone is interested).
The Dragon Borgward was also reboxed by Revell Germany.
I wonder if they'll rebox it with a StuG in another package? They already did the repacking with a Smart Kit Panzer III.
Cheers,
Christophe

The artwork shows spare tracks across the bow. I will advise against that; I can't find any tigers in s.Pz.Abt.508 with spare tracks there.

Not that I can tell by looking over the Dragon catalogues that I have. They did release a Pz III "J" with a Borgward "B" by Cyber Hobby under CH-6510, though it came with the blued-out parts to also make an "A" variant. Interesting timing as I was just getting ready to put together a Tiger combo using either Cyber Hobby kits CH-9142 (early Tiger I) or CH-6660 (Mid). Thanks David, for the input on the front track pieces. I was wondering about the artwork, though it does look nice...

Have you photos of an Early Tiger with a Borgward controller?
