The Trumpeter M983 kit is a work of art and light years ahead of the Italeri kit with the exception of the decals.
I am planning with Vagabond decals to produce a sheet to correct that. We would like to put out a decal sheet that corrects the misspellings on the Trumpeter sheet, and any missing markings or placards and instrument gauges while giving a few alterative bumper codes. We won't stop there. Artwork is in the works for the FMTV,M923 and any other U.S. Military truck on the market and conversion kits which many do not include decals.
Decals will be water slide and printed by Chartograph. We are also looking into the feasibility of doing placards as printed photo-etch. Its way too early to talk about a release date, but work on the project is well on the way.
Any pictures of references anyone would like to provide will be appreciated.

I guess you already know about the drawings you can find in TM's like this one :
They're often included in the TM "stowage and sign guide" appendix...
Another reference source is the spare parts dealers like this one :

I think I have pictures that show bumper numbers of my old Guard unit that could help if you would like.

Thanks for the links and ideas guys, keep them coming. I will have to learn how to read bumper codes, but pictures will help.
